As you can see on the picture, the letters can be selected by using a three-rowed double shift keyboard.
Realised by an unique mechanism, the typebars are sliding along a hardened platen to reach the point of printing. Horizontally the typebars are guided by a slide to guarantee a regular printing.

This typewriter was produced by the Adler- Werke in Frankfurt/ Main, Germany and was the really first visiblibe- writing machine made in germany.
The printing on the cover changed through the years, which demonstrates the changing design through the years.
